Today it is one of the most important historical buildings in all of Austria.

We will depart from the conference hotel at 19:00 PM and enjoy a short walk to the palace.  Once there, we will enjoy an exclusive evening tour followed by dinner in the Sacher Café with authentic Austrian food.

Please confirm your participation in this social event in your registration account and use this opportunity to meet other colleagues and widen your network while discovering this great cultural and historical city.

Guided Tour of Tyrol
                          9:00 - 18:00

A memorable and exciting tour overall. Sign up on conference website now.

Join us for all day guided tour of the western Austrian state of Tyrol, Austria, of which Innsbruck is the capitol city. This guided tour will begin at the conference hotel where we will be picked up by our guide in our tour bus.

During our tour, we´ll walk through the middle-aged Old town of HALL, (~10 km from Innsbruck) and visit the Parish-Church St. Nikolaus, the Old City Hall and the Fortress Hasegg, where we will have in the mint-museum the opportunity to make our own coins!   Afterwards we´ll drive to SCHWAZ, the old Silber-Mine-City, where 500 years ago 12.000 miners were established. For lunch we´ll go to the TRATZBERG CASTLE, where you will enjoy in the Burgschenke, a typical Tyrolean meal (Speck, Kaminwurzen, Käse, Apfelstrudel).  After lunch, we will visit the Castle – which we will reach via a small train. We will see a beautiful Castle from the late 15th century, still today in private ownership. It features original carved ceilings as well as furniture from the late Middle Age, the famous genealogical tree of the royal family of Habsburg, an armory and more.

After these historical visits, we´ll travel to Wattens and appreciate the ”CRYSTAL WORLD” of Swarovski where you will have many shopping opportunities.  The tour will conclude with transportation back to the conference hotel.

Pricing and Transportation: €105 (~US$120) for the bus transportation, tour guide, lunch, all entrance fees, and the small train to the castle.  Attendees will pay for their own drinks.

Another memorable and exciting tour overall. Sign up on conference website.

Join us for all day guided tour of the Austrian City of Salzburg, famously known as the birthplace of Mozart and the setting for the film “The Sound of Music.” This guided tour will begin at the conference hotel where we will be picked up by our guide in our tour bus.

We will take a scenic drive to Salzburg, approximately 2.5 hours from Innsbruck.  Once there, we’ll start our visit in the beautiful baroque gardens of the Castle of Mirabell. During our walking tour through the Historic City of Salzburg we will see the famous Getreidegasse with beautiful court-yards, Mozart-Birthplace (museum), the Old Market, the Cathedral (in front of this church the “Jedermann” (Everyman) takes place on summer evenings during the Salzburg Festival), we will see from below the majestic fortress Hohensalzburg, the Churchyard of St. Peter, the oldest monastery of German-speaking countries (founded in 700 from the Saint Rupert).

After these visits, we´ll walk over to the Festival Houses to the restaurant, Stern-Bräu, where we will have lunch. After lunch, we will go by elevator up to the mountain of Mönchsberg, where we will have a spectacular view of the town.  Up there, either we can enjoy a typical Austrian coffee-break or visit the Mönchsberg-Museum for Modern Art (there is an additional fee for the museum of about 8-12 Euros). We will spend ~1 hour there.

At 4:00 PM we will board our tour bus for the return trip to Innsbruck.
